BOISE -- The Ada County coroner says an 18-year-old man who was found dead in his car Sunday morning died from injuries he sustained in a car crash.
Coroner Erwin Sonnenberg has identified the crash victim as Taylor Lobdell of Boise. The cause of death is listed as blunt force trauma to the chest.
His body was found just after 8:30 a.m. Sunday in a parking lot off West Executive Drive and West President Drive, police said. The person who found the body called police, telling them the young man behind the wheel was not breathing.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene and confirmed the man had died.
Crash reconstruction experts say it appears he was driving on West Executive Drive when he missed a bend in the road, went over some parking curbs, and careened off a gate before coming to a stop in the parking lot of a coffee company.
Although the body was found Sunday morning, the coroner puts the time of death at 9:37 p.m. Saturday.
