BISMARCK, North Dakota -- A fugitive wanted for allegedly shooting at local police and kidnapping a woman was arrested in North Dakota.
Police took Mitchell Walck, 57, into custody Wednesday morning in Bismarck.
Walck went on the run after a police pursuit late Friday night. Police say he fled from a traffic stop and shot at an Idaho State Police officer. Multiple local agencies assisted with the search, which came up empty.
Walck allegedly kidnapped a Kootenai Co. woman at gunpoint on Sunday, forcing her to drive to Montana before letting her out of the car unharmed. Police believe Walck, a transient, abducted the woman to use her car to escape.
Bismarck police say they arrested the suspect Wednesday.
