COOS BAY, Ore. The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward leading to a conviction of the person or people who detonated an improvised explosive device at a Vietnam War Memorial in Coos Bay on August 23, the FBI said Friday.
Federal authorities are also looking for suspects who placed another IED inside the prayer chapel at Second Street and Commercial Avenue, which was defused by Oregon State Police s Hazardous Device Technicians.
Authorities do not know the person or group responsible for the IEDs, but the Coos Bay Police Department released a sketch of a person believed to have been in the vicinity of the prayer chapel after the device was found there.
The man was described as a 55-year-old white man about 5-foot-6, weighing around 150 lbs with a shaved head. Anyone with information was asked to call the FBI at 503-224-4181.
