PORTLAND -- Friday is expected to be the first 80-degree day of 2013, and then the weekend will get even warmer, said KGW Meteorologist Nick Allard.

Get ready for some more beautiful sunshine and hot weather, he said Friday morning. Yes. Hot.

He said Saturday would hit about 83 degrees and Sunday would get to about 84.

I don't think we'll set any records in Portland, but we may at the coast with temps in the upper 70s and lower 80s, he said. Keep an eye on Newport tomorrow for a potential record.

The hot streak will continue through Monday. A bit of cloud cover should move in Tuesday and keep temperatures down in the lower 70s.

We may see a few thunderstorms in the Cascades Sunday night and Monday, so keep that in mind if you're camping, Allard added. Outside of that, enjoy your 'summer' weekend!
