BOISE -- An unusually strong winter storm dropped hail, rain, and snow in parts of the Treasure Valley just after 12 p.m. Wednesday.

A line of thunderclouds scattered pea and marble sized hail in parts of Boise's north end shortly after Noon.

Lightning, rain, and high winds were seen in other parts of the valley.

Ada County dispatch reported downed trees throughout the area.

MORERAIN, SNOWEXPECTED

KTVB Meteorologist Larry Gebert says scattered showers are expected throughout the afternoon, and should taper shortly after 6 p.m.

Gebert says up to 10 inches of snow will fall at mountain elevations above 7,000 feet.

However, Bogus Basin will likely only see 3 to 4 inches of snow.

The temperature at the Boise Airport dropped 12 degrees in just 15 minutes during Wednesday's storm.

POWEROUTAGES

Wednesday's high winds also caused power outages throughout the Treasure Valley.

Idaho Power reported multiple outages Wednesday afternoon including: Caldwell, Green Leaf, Notus, Parma, Horseshoe Bend, Bogus Basin area, Emmett, and Boise.

All power will be restored at this time.
