PORTLAND - It's the fifth-wettest year in Portland's recorded history. 2012 came in at nearly 48 inches of rain.

The No. 1 year was 1996, with just over 63 inches. And there was still a shot at cracking into the top four with eleven days to go.

It was the wettest spring on record since 1940.

We ve also had more days with over an inch of rain this year (3) compares to one 1-inch rain day for the spring of 2011, KGW Chief Meteorologist Matt Zaffino said.

The wettest June on record at the airport was in 2010, when the total for the month was 4.27 inches.
