NAMPA, Idaho -- Police and family members say a 14-month-old child was killed after he was backed-over by a vehicle driven by his own mother Saturday afternoon.

Family members of RaTona Fuentes say the 24-year-old mother mistakenly ran over her 14-month-old son Jullian Ruben Fuentes when backing-up a vehicle.

Police say the accident appened around 3:42 p.m. in the 900 block of North Horton Street.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicates Fuentes was backing-up her vehicle in the roadway and felt a bump.

As she stopped, family members were calling for her,and she then discovered she had hit her child. The child was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

Nampa Police continue to investigate the accident, and have not arrested Fuentes in connection with the child's death.

They say the results of the investigation will likely be turned-over to the CanyonCounty Prosecutor's Office.

As I sit in front of this paper trying to gather my thoughts for my sweet boy, I find myself wondering 'why?' and 'how?' this could have ever happened. I've always read about other stories like this, and asked 'Why did they let that happen? How could they not be paying attention to their sweet baby?'

But now I'm in that spot.

My baby is the sweetest baby boy ever. He has the biggest smile and the sweetest, kindest laugh. He is always in the best mood, and he always makes you smile, no matter how you feel.

No one is to blame but me. Yes, there are many things I could have done to prevent this. I wish I could go back and change it. I just hope that everyone reading this pays closer attention and holds their babies so close to them. Never let them go, never think for one second that you can turn your head ever, cause all it takes is one single second and your whole world can come crashing down and change.

This is changing my whole life. My life will never be the same.

Mommy loves you my sweet baby JuJu. Please never forget that!
