EAGLE, Idaho -- There weresome icy conditions out onarea roads this morning, especially on bridges.

Police say it appears black ice on a bridge contributed to a head-on crash on Highway 44 between Eagle Road and Ballantyne Lane.

It happened at around9 a.m. when a driver was traveling westbound, lost control of his pickup, and slid into oncoming lanes.

A sedan struck the pickup, and it flipped. The occupants of both vehicles were trapped and had to be extricated.

Three people were injured, but police say they were all wearing their seat belts, and the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Traffic was reduced to one lane, but the accident scene was cleared by 11 a.m.

With the fog and black ice, police are urging drivers to slow down, and increase their stopping distance.
