SPRINGDALE, Wash. -- A school bus crash sent six to eight students on board to the hospital Wednesday morning.

According to the Stevens County Sheriff's Office, the accident was likely caused by icy roads. The bus slid off the road and flipped on its side.

School district officials said 27 students were on board at the time. The students taken to the hospital were transported to the Pediatrics Emergency room at Sacred Heart Hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

The Mary Walker School District identified the bus involved in the crash as number 6, which is used along the Cemetery Road. The crash was reported near the intersection of Cemetery Rd and Highway 231. No word yet on what caused the crash.
