PULLMAN, Wash. -- Police confirmed on Wednesday that an arrest has been made for the attack on Dr. David Warner. Pullman officers arrested Madeline A. Fouts, 21, at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

An anonymous tip received over this past weekend led to the arrest according to police. Fouts faces charges for rendering criminal assistance (felony) and providing false statements to a public servant.

Officer confirmed that Fouts is a Washington State University student and a Pullman resident.

A student told KREM 2 News that Police Chief Gary Jenkins announced the arrest at a gathering at the Native American Student Center on Wednesday. Pullman PD announced that additional information will be released at a press conference on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

The Washington State University professor was attacked on March 30th in the Adams Mall parking lot. Warner suffered a serious head injury during the attack and is hospitalized in Spokane. Investigators released surveillance video of the suspects and witnesses following the attack.

Officers said that they were looking for three male suspects too. Police added that they have solid leads and are aggressively following those leads at this time.

A reward was offered for information leading to an arrest. On Tuesday, Washington State University President Elson Floyd donated $10,000 to the reward fund.
