With spring starting in less than 24 hours, the weather in Washington is set to be windy and rainy, with heavy mountain snow.
Starting Tuesday afternoon, rain will spread from the south to most of the Puget Sound. Highs will be in the upper 40's to low 50's.
Gusty winds of 15 to 30 miles per hour are expected overnight. North of Everett, however, the wind could exceed 40 miles per hour.
In the mountains, a winter storm warning goes into effect tonight. A foot or more could fall tonight through Wednesday morning.
Spring officially starts at 4:02 a.m. Wednesday.
