The Seattle Department of Transportation has permitted 40 mini-parks for around the city as part of the annual PARK(ing) Day event.

The event takes place to stress the importance of sustainable, healthy cities.

Seattle joins cities around the world in converting on street parking to raise awareness.

The parks include places to sit, landscaping, games, art installations, opportunties to create art and more.

The mini-parks will be set up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in neighborhoods around the city.
