PORTLAND - Portland's annual Christmas Tree lighting will kick off the holiday season in Pioneer Courthouse Square Friday.

The 28th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony festivities will include a community sing-a-long led by Thomas Lauderdale and members of Pink Martini and friends.

KGW news anchors Brenda Braxton and Russ Lewis will host the event. If you can't make it downtown for the event, you can see live on KGWNewschannel 8 during our 6:00 newscast.

The annual tree lighting usually attracts about 15,000 people to the square.
