SEATTLE -- Pierce Jones hit three home runs and a triple in leading the team from Chicago to a 12-2 victory over Pacific Little League from Lynnwood and Edmonds, Wash., in their opening game at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

Chicago scored two runs in the first and Pacific tied it up right away. But, the team from the Great Lakes Region added three runs and five in the third to blow it open.

The game was called after five innings because of the 10 run deficit.

Pacific Little League will move into the consolation bracket of the double-elimination tournament and will have to win out for a shot at the title. They ll play again at 11 a.m. Saturday.
