SEATTLE -- Two recent cases show, tasers don't always work as planned.

On Monday in SeaTac, a burglary suspect was shot by a deputy after tasering was ineffective.

On Tuesday in Seattle, a man was shot by police after two tasering attempts.

What happened with the tasers? Why didn't they, why were they not effective? Why didn't they work? asked Seattle Ed Murray at a Wednesday news briefing.

Those questions will be part of the police investigation into the officer-involved shooting at Gas Works Park on Tuesday.

At the request of KING 5, the Seattle Police Department is compiling records of the number of suspects tasered and the number that worked and didn't work.
