HILLSBORO, Ore. -- A naked man was arrested after attacking a hunter south of U.S. Highway 26 near Manning Thursday, police said.

The hunter suffered head and shoulder injuries, but managed to hold his attacker at gunpoint until deputies arrived, according to Sgt. Bob Ray of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

The alleged attacker, 20-year-old Linus Norgren of Banks, said something about Sasquatch before the attack, Ray said.

Norgren then jumped on the hunter, struck him with a rock and tried to choke him, Ray said. The hunter grabbed his rifle when the naked man stopped attacking.

The hunter was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, Ray said. Norgren was taken to the Washington County Jail after receiving treatment for a broken finger.

It is not known what provoked Mr. Norgren to launch his attack or why he was undressed, Ray said.
