CHENEY, Wash. -- A medical student at EWU fell short of his world record attempt, but still made his fans proud.

David Reese attempted to break a world record by running 161 mi. on a treadmill for 24 hours straight.

His goal sprouted from his desire to raise money for people living in rural areas who need access to medical care.

Reese ran the full 24 hours, but fell short of his distance dream. He ran 105 mi. between 11 a.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday.
