SPOKANE, Wash. -- Thousands of people across the Inland Northwest woke up without power Saturday morning.
More than 8,600 people from Post Falls to Spokane s South Hill were affected.
Avistasays weather takes most of the blame. Strong winds and blowing tree branches knocked out lines throughout the region.
Pole fires caused outages in some other areas. This is caused by dust gathering on power poles during the recent dry streak. A little bit of rain overnight, combined with the buildup, sparked those fires.
