A 2-year-old boy has died after he was rescued from a lake in northern Clark County Monday, authorities said.

The child was reported missing around 1 p.m. near the Siouxon Bridge. Then, about 15 minutes later, the boy was found unconscious in the water, according to the Clark County Sheriff's Office.

A pediatric nurse happened to be nearby and gave CPR to the toddler, according to Sgt. Duncan Hoss with the Clark County Sheriff's Office.

The boy was flown in a LifeFlight helicopter to Randall Children's Hospital in Portland, where he was on life support Tuesday morning. He died later that day, authorities said.

His name has not been released. Hoss said investigators determined that the incident was an accident and the toddler had not been wearing a lifejacket.
