Four people who were manufacturing hash oil were hurt in an explosion at a Shelton home, police said Tuesday.
Fire officials said three 20-year-olds and one 17-year-old were in the home Tuesday afternoon when the blast occurred in the home in the 500 block of Grandview Road.
Neighbors said the blast was so powerful it knocked a wall off the foundation.
The four people in the home drove themselves to Mason General Hospital. Three of them were later transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious burns. They are in stable condition.
The fourth person was treated at the hospital and released.
The family that owns the home live on the upper level and were renting the lower level out to four men. One of those family members said they've recently had some problems with the tenants.
They are bringing people over here, they are not supposed to. It s ridiculous, said Coleman Young. We were going to kick them out in 20 days. Looks like they get sooner.
A few neighbors say they're worried about increased drug activity in the neighborhood.
Police say it's the first time there has been this kind of explosion in Shelton.
