WILSONVILLE, Ore. A burglar broke into a Wilsonville family s home through the window of their sleeping 11-year-old daughter s bedroom early Sunday morning.

The suspected burglar, 31-year-old Jesse Williams, removed an air conditioning unit from the girl s bedroom window and broke in just before 6 a.m., said Deputy Mark Nikolai with the Clackamas County Sheriff s Office.

The girl woke up and saw Williams in her bedroom, so she ran to her parents room to let them know a man was in her room, Nikolai said.

The father, Christopher Rothaug, then confronted Williams and told him to get out, Nikolai said.

Police then found Williams a quarter of a mile away and arrested him for burglary. Williams had no relation to the victims.

The Clackamas County Sheriff s Office warns families to make sure air conditioning units are secure to prevent criminals from breaking in during hot months. Criminals often look for easy ways to get into homes and open windows make for easy targets.
