Hazardous materials crews were called to a Spokane intersection after a Waste Management truck began leaking a potentially dangerous acid.
SPOKANE, Wash. – Firefighters were called to the scene of a hazmat situation on Wednesday morning near Wellesley and Crestline.
Emergency workers said the incident stemmed from an acid spill involving a Waste Management truck. The area around Wellesley and Crestline was shut down for at least 45 minutes.
Workers told KREM a clear liquid was leaking from the truck and began to bubble on the ground. Tests showed the liquid was a potentially dangerous acid.
Five fire crews were called to the scene.
