Missing Normandy Park police dog found OK

Rocky, a two-year-old bloodhound, weighs about 80 pounds.

NORMANDY PARK, Wash. - After 12 hours of searching, the Normandy Park Police Department findally found their police dog, a bloodhound named Rocky, who escaped from the Des Moines yard of his handler on Saturday night.

Rocky escaped at about 9 p.m. and was seen in the 400 block of S. 193rd in Des Moines. He was found just eight blocks away.

The police records manager, Jean Lindsey, said he was "just out scoping around."

Officers from the Des Moines Police Department and members of the King County Sheriff's Office, including Guardian 1 helicopter, helped search for the 80-pound dog.

Rocky is used to locate missing children and adults and also helps officers apprehend suspects.
