SILVERWOOD, Idaho - A faulty sensor made for some tense moments on Silverwood's newest attraction Wednesday evening. Around 8 p.m, the Aftershock roller coaster stalled just as the cars were approaching the second tower.
According to park managers, a safety sensor tripped. Crews were able to get all the riders off safely, but not until they had been trapped on the coaster for about ten minutes.
The sensor was replaced, and the Aftershock will be operational again when the park opens today at 11am.
Silverwood bought the coaster from a Six Flags park in Chicago. While there, the coaster was known as Deja Vu and it received a lot of criticism. According to Wikipedia, the coaster would often stall in the middle of the ride. The park eventually installed emergency unloading scaffolding.
