SEATTLE – A dramatic rescue saved the life of a pregnant woman and her
unborn child.
Seconds matter in any serious accident, but when paramedic John Fisk
arrived on the scene of a head-on collision Wednesday, he immediately
knew this would be tougher than most.
Battered and broken inside a mangled minivan was Consonya Taylor – 8
months pregnant.
When she was finally freed, the crowd that had gathered erupted in applause, but her ordeal was far from over.
Her husband, Curtis Taylor, was in Bellingham and first heard of the accident on his car radio.
Curtis finally arrived to find his wife with six major fractures and his son hanging on to life, but through heroic work both on the street and in the hospital, Consonya and aptly named son, Solomon Miracle Taylor, pulled through and should be fine.
Consonya is now at Harborview Medical Center to mend her fractures – two broken ankles, a broken leg, hip, arm and wrist.
Authorities believe the man who hit her was under the influence and will face felony charges.
