Fort Lewis soldier killed in Iraq vehicle accident

FORT LEWIS, Wash. -- A soldier based at Fort Lewis near Tacoma, Wash., died in a vehicle accident in Iraq Tuesday.
The Pentagon said Thursday that 27-year-old Staff Sgt. David W. Textor was the only soldier killed in the accident in Mosul, which is under investigation.
A native of Jamestown, N.Y., Textor first volunteered for military service in May 2002.
He was deployed to Iraq in May, as his first deployment in support of the War on Terror.
He is survived by his wife, Collette, and five children, who live in Olympia.
Textor was a Green Beret assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), based at Fort Lewis.
