SHELTON, Wash. – A 17-year-old Shelton boy is behind bars, accused of raping one of his own relatives inside her home early Monday morning on the Squaxin Island Indian Reservation in Shelton.
"This is just very unsettling to members of the community because we like to think Mason County is a quiet little community and violence like this happens in other places," said --
The victim says the boy broke into her home around 3:30 a.m. wearing a hood and disguising his voice, but she still knew who he was. She says the boy threatened her with a kitchen knife, saying as long as she cooperated, no one would be hurt.

Her children – ages three, four and six – were asleep in the next bedroom.
"Our victim was very, very afraid that both she and her children would be harmed or worse by this individual," said –
Police say the boy lives in a foster home on the reservation.
After he was arrested nearby, police say he confessed.
One neighbor who asked not to be identified can't believe what's happened.
"It's sad because we're all supposed to be family around here and more and more everyday, we're not family."
The suspect is in the Mason County Juvenile Justice Center on $500,000 bail. He faces charges of rape, kidnapping and burglary.
