SEATTLE — The King County Jail had 65 inmates with the MRSA "superbug" in a five-month period ending in February.
A Seattle-King County health official says it's unknown if they picked up the infection in jail or already had it when they were booked.
The official, Dr. Jeffrey Duchin, says the 65 were among 20,702 inmates released from the jail in that period.
A Justice Department report in November criticized the jail for failing to do enough cleaning to prevent the spread of the drug-resistant bacteria.
