ALOHA, Ore. -- Five members of an Aloha family were recovering after they escaped an early morning house fire on Thursday.
The house fire started just before 2 a.m. inside a home on Southwest 203rd near Brightwood Court.
"I ran out of the kitchen I saw big fires coming out of the house. Scary my house was so close, my heart was pumping," said Eva Moore, a next door neighbor.
When crews arrived, there was heavy smoke and fire, and the fire went to a 2-alarm fire. Firefighters said much of the fire and damage was on the back side of the home.
"The back side is very involved in fire. The fire was rolling through most of the house enough where it took out the front windows of the house," said Lt. Dean Schulze with Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.
The family of five was able to get of the house okay, but were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
