Video: Mom and daughter claim prostitution suspects maced them

PORTLAND, Ore. -- A mother and daughter trying to fight prostitution said they were attacked by two women while taking pictures on 82nd Avenue.

It happened Saturday night around 9 p.m. just hours after Montevilla neighbors held a march to take back their neighborhood.

The mother and daughter said they were trying to take pictures of two suspected working girls to give to police

That’s when the two suspects approached the car and used mace. One sprayed the car and the other girl sprayed the passenger window as it was being rolled up. No one was hurt.

The two said they were afraid of retaliation and would not go on camera.

Many neighbors want the area to be declared a prostitution-free zone, but police said their hands were tied after Mayor Tom Potter did away with the zoning laws.

Police said they knew who the two women were but so far there was no police report filed.
