PORTLAND - Officers captured a federal fugitive after a high-speed police chase across two states.
Brandon Miller was taken into custody Tuesday night. He was wanted for federal weapons charges out of Nevada.
Police spotted the 33-year-old in Vancouver, WA around 10 p.m. They wanted to talk to him about a separate issue. Officers believed he was involved in an assault.
But police say Miller drove off and onto Interstate 205 where Portland police got involved. Portland police used spike strips to stop Miller. He and two other passengers in the car surrendered peacefully. No one was hurt, but the freeway was shut down for 30 minutes.
Miller was booked into the Multnomah County Jail, where he awaits extradition. His charges included elluding police, a felony and reckless driving.
Bail was set at $15,000.
