Desk clerk in police chief scandal returning to work

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Angela Oswalt, who accused former Portland Police Chief Derrick Foxworth of abuse of power and sexual misconduct, will return to work Monday as a police bureau desk clerk after nearly 15 months of paid administrative leave after the city agreed to drop its attempts to fire her.

Following an unfair labor practices complaint, the Oregon Employment Relations Board ruled the city could not investigate or discipline her for unrelated protected activities in her role as a union steward.
The 2006 accusations by Oswalt, who had had an ongoing affair with Foxworth, led to his demotion.
