GRESHAM, Ore. – Firefighters cut two people out of their car after a fiery, 2-vehicle crash in Gresham, authorities said.
A Saturn was southbound on Southeast 282nd Avenue at the intersection with Stone Road as a Chevy Tahoe traveled eastbound on Stone Rd., towards 282 Ave., said Multnomah County Sheriff's Deputy Travis Gullberg.
According to Gullberg, the Tahoe approached a stop sign but, "probably did not stop." Witnesses told police the Tahoe driver failed to yeild right of way to the Saturn.
The driver of the Tahoe was an adult traveling with a child in the passenger seat, Gullberg said.
Two teenagers were in the Saturn. They had to be cut out of the car. The Saturn passenger was transported to the hospital via LifeFlight air ambulance helicopter with possible life-threatening injuries, Gullberg said.
The driver of the Saturn and both people in the Tahoe were transported to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the sheriff's office.
The intersection of Southeast 282nd Avenue and Stone Road was shut down as investigators combed through the wreckage.
Gullberg said speed and weather did not appear to have been factors in the crash.
