10:12 AM PST on Monday, December 1, 2008

Associated Press

SAGLE, Idaho - Detectives in northern Idaho say they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal shooting on at a campground on Thanksgiving night.

Bonner County Sheriff Elaine Savage say a 28-year-old man is being held in the county jail on a $500,000 bond.

The victim in the shooting is 30-year-old Elvin Holt, of Samuels. Authorities say Holt was shot during an altercation late Thursday night at the Travel America Park -- a recreational vehicle campground -- in the small town of Sagle.

Savage has so far declined to comment on details of the altercation or what provoked the shooting and says investigators are still questioning people and sorting through evidence.

An autopsy on Holt's body is being conducted by the medical examiner's office in Spokane County, Wash.
