Police: After deportation, man came to Idaho to traffic pot

10:38 AM PDT on Tuesday, October 7, 2008

KTVB

HAILEY, Idaho - A man who had been deported to Mexico after serving time for drug dealing in Texas is now accused of marijuana trafficking in Idaho.

Detectives arrested Augustine Martinez-Lazo, 37 Friday in Hailey.

He is charged with drug trafficking and delivery charges, several weapons violations, and being in the United States illegally after having been deported.

The arrest comes after a seven-month drug investigation that produced leads in Twin Falls and Blaine counties and as far away as Humboldt County, California.

Two other people, including Martinez-Lazo's nephew, were arrested Thursday in Hailey in connection with this case.
