Plane crashes into Hayden elementary school

HAYDEN, Idaho -- The pilot of an experimental plane was killed Friday when the plane crashed into the side of an elementary school in Hayden, Idaho.

The pilot of this small plane was killed when it crashed against Atlas Elementary School in Hayden, Idaho on Friday.
Atlast Elementary School was empty at the time, as school as not started yet. Witnesses told emergency crews they heard no engine noise coming from the plane before it went down.
The name of the pilot has not been released.
Officials from the FAA and NTSB are headed to the scene to take over the investigation.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident earlier in the day, Sandpoint Airport officials confirmed that a small plane had its front nose gear collapse upon landing late this morning. Authorities said there were no injuries.
