Rachel Walsh, 48, of Meridian, has been reported as missing by the Elmore County Sheriff.

BOISE -- The Elmore County Sheriff has issued a missing person alert for a Meridian woman who disappeared during a weekend camping trip near Anderson Ranch Reservoir.

Sheriff's deputies received a call Sunday evening that 48-year-old Rachel Walsh did not return to a camper at the Fall Creek Lodge. She was last seen Saturday evening.

On Sunday morning, her red 2001 Dodge Neon was gone and her whereabouts are unknown.

Walsh works for the U.S. Postal Service in Boise, but did not come into work Monday and has not been heard from.

Her red 2001 Dodge Neon has a license plate number of 1A UK314.

According to the Ada County Sheriff's Web site, Walsh has two outstanding warrants for her arrest. One for a probation violation and an Aug. 11, 2008 warrant for failure to appear.

If anyone knows of her whereabouts, they are urged to contact the Elmore County Sheriff’s Department.
