GARDEN CITY -- A young boy was hospitalized Friday afternoon after being left in a day care van in Garden City for three hours.
Ada County dispatch says they received a call around 3 p.m. that a 3-year-old was in need of medical attention after spending three hours alone in the van.
It is unknown why the child was left in the vehicle. Police investigators say the boy was left in the van from noon to 3 p.m.
Ada County paramedics responded to the day care at 8707 W. State Street.
The name on the van is Kid's Kampus Learning Center. The owner declined to talk with KTVB about the incident.
When we arrived the van was parked underneath the overhang of a building and in the shade.
Dispatchers say the boy was very warm, but responsive. His temperatures was 102 degrees.
He was transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, where he was reportedly doing well. His parents were with him.
Temperatures on Friday reached into the 90s. Officials say it doesn't take long for a person to die under these type of conditions when left in a vehicle.
Police are investigating the incident.
