Severed head found at crash scene

BOISE – Police trying to help victims in a head-on collision that killed two people in Boise on Thursday morning came across a grisly discovery: a severed head in the middle of the road.

"We found the most horrific piece of evidence I can even imagine - the severed head of a female laying on Franklin Road," said Deputy Chief Mike Webb, Boise Police Department.

Police say around 6:30 a.m., a Dodge Ram pickup driven by Alofa Time, 50, collided head-on with a blue Nissan on Franklin Road between Five Mile and Cloverdale.

An officer who witnessed the accident called for backup and tried to assist the victims inside the Nissan. Samantha Murphy, 36, and her 4-year-old daughter Jae Lynne Grimes, were killed in the crash. Another child survived but was seriously injured.

Two people were killed in the crash early Thursday morning.

Police said it appeared that the woman's head was in the pickup truck prior to the accident.

Broken beer bottles were found at the scene and police are working to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Police then searched Time's Nampa home, where they found the decapitated body of his ex-wife, Theresa N. Time, 47, in a car in the garage.

Time reportedly has a history of domestic violence with his ex-wife. Court documents show Time was arrested March 19 and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. A no contact order was issued after the arrest, but was lifted at the victim's request on May 30.

Boise Police have charged Time with two counts of second-degree murder for his involvement in the accident. He is a suspect in the death of his wife, but no charges have yet been filed.
