Chinook fishing was hot out of Westport on Sunday July 1st, we weighed many fish at the derby booth the largest of them all was this 20 pound 10 ounce dressed weight Chinook caught by Alex Nelson of Vancouver. Alex was smart enough to buy a derby ticket before he left the dock and went home with a check for $500 from the Westport Charterboat Association Derby. The Charterboats are lightly loaded for the holiday week so come on down to Westport and try your luck at catching the big one.
