117-pound halibut
The Westport "Catch of the Week" goes to Daryle Baker of Port Angeles. Daryle landed this Huge Halibut in the near-shore area off Westport on May 30th. Daryle and his fish are on the leader board for the $1,000 biggest Halibut of the year prize from the Westport Charterboat Assoc. The near-shore area continues to be open seven days per week until the poundage quota is met. We don't typically land large numbers of Halibut in this area, but as you can see there are some big ones out there. Salmon Season opens Saturday June 9th.
