44-pound Albacore Tuna
"Westport's Catch of the Week" for the week ending 9/9/2012 goes to Joe O'Neil of Cottonwood Idaho. Joe landed this huge Albacore Tuna while fishing on a Charterboat out of Westport on Friday Sept. 7th. The tuna weighed in at 44 pounds 5 ounces in the round and is the winner of the weekly prize of $480 and the current leader for the Westport Charterboat Assn. yearly grand prize of $1,000. Albacore fishing continues out of Westport at least through the end of September weather permitting.
