KGW meteorologist Nick Allard said the weather will be unpleasant, with gusts to 45 mph or more, heavy rain and cold temperatures.

Weather: Cold, rainy, windy Monday

The Timbers completed their pre-season undefeated, 4-0-3 and were 1-0-2 in their earlier tournament at JELD-WEN. The Timbers outscored their opponents 11-3 in the preseason.

“I think we're in good shape, think we've had a good preseason this year considering up until we started to get all our injuries,” said Timbers head coach John Spencer. “I'd rather be winning, you know, six or seven games in preseason and conceding not many goals than losing every game in preseason and conceding a lot of goals.”

Midfielder Darlington Nagbe begins the season having recovered from an ankle injury, playing just one preseason match. Defender Futty Danso is out for four to six weeks with a broken metatarsal in his left foot.

The match will air on 750 AM  The Game and 940 AM La Pantera. The match will also be on ESPN2.
