President Barack Obama welcomed the WNBA champion Seattle Storm to the White House Wednesday morning.

The Storm won the WNBA title the second year in a row after sweeping the Atlanta Dream last September. The team was invited to celebrate with President Obama at the Rose Garden.

The team was also honored for their amazing work off the court, especially for their work with Storm forward Swin Cash’s charitable organization, Cash for Kids.

The Pennsylvania based charity has done a lot of work helping children in the community of Cash’s hometown of McKeesport, a suburb of Pittsburgh, as well as the surrounding Pittsburgh area. The Seattle Storm hope to extend the charity’s helping hands by starting work with kids in the Seattle community this summer.

During an interview with KING 5, Cash said she felt “humbled” by the White House house invitation.

During the Rose Garden ceremony, President Obama received an honorary Seattle Storm 2010 Championship Ring created by Seattle jeweler Blue Nile.
