Seattle Seahawks back-up quarterback Seneca Wallace drops back to pass Monday, June 5, 2006 during a minicamp workout in Kirkland, Wash. Wallace played wide receiver in the NFC Championship game last January in Seattle, but now he is looking for more action as he sits as back-up quarterback and waits for the Seahawks to sign a veteran back-up passer to free him up to play receiver again.
RENTON, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks had backup quarterback Seneca Wallace back on the practice field Wednesday at Renton after he missed almost all of last week with a calf injury.
Coach Mike Holmgren says Wallace will split time this week with third-stringer Charlie Frye. If Wallace's calf holds up through that, he will start for the 1-4 Seahawks Sunday night at 4-2 Tampa Bay.
Injured starting Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will miss his second consecutive game this weekend.
Seahawks safety Deon Grant was back at practice yesterday after sustaining a knee injury in last week's loss to Green Bay. The defensive co-captain is expected to start against the Buccaneers.
