Spokane's Hoopfest set to tip off in Las Vegas

Hoopfest set to host Las Vegas' 3-on-3 basketball tournament

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – In October, one of Spokane’s most popular events will take center court in one of the United States’ most popular destinations – Las Vegas.

The first ever Las Vegas 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is being put on by Spokane Hoopfest—the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the world. The tournament runs from October 14-16.

Games will be placed at the Toshiba Plaza at the T-Mobile Arena and on the outdoor parking garage of the New York, New York Hotel and Casino.

With such little time left, coordinators said it will take a lot of work to haul Hoopfest equipment all the way to Sin City. Hoopfest Executive Director Matt Santangelo said most of the hoops, rims, tables, score boards, and other equipment are all being trucked down from Spokane.

Santangelo also said he and team of about 20-25 will be down in Vegas to assist with all the logistics of the event. He said at this point, the name of the game is preparation and letting people of Las Vegas know what 3-on-3 is and how hard Spokane can play.

There is no confirmation on how many teams have signed up at this time, but Santangelo said he expects teams from all over the country to make the trip.

The final day to register is September 30. To register, follow this link.
