Fans of opposing NFL teams who were already upset about how loud it is at CenturyLink Field aren’t going to like this.
Several media outlets are reporting that the Seahawks are looking to add 2,000-to-3,000 seats to the loudest stadium in the world. The expansion would happen next season.
CenturyLink Field currently has 67,000 permanent seats, although the Seahawks regularly cram an extra 1,000 people or more into the stadium on game days. The new seats would reportedly be placed in the South end zone area.
Seahawks fans set a Guinness world record on Sept. 15 for crowd noise in a stadium when they reached 136.6 decibels.
