Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III may be the rookie starting quarterbacks that are getting the most hype in the NFL this season, but Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is also getting respect from the national sports media.

The people at Levi’s seem pretty impressed, too. They are featuring Wilson in a new ad campaign called “Go Forth," which is produced more as a mini-documentary using Wilson's own words to tell his story.

“I try to do everything that I can to be uncommon and to do something different that nobody else has ever done before, and that’s where I’m headed,” said Wilson.

The video shows various shots of Wilson in the film room, working out, driving and walking around Seattle, and photos of his father.

“My dad helped change my life, help shape my life,” said Wilson. He also credits his father with teaching him perserverence and having a great perspective and great purpose in life.

Wilson reveals something many fans may not know about the night in 2010 when he was drafted to play professional baseball.

“Toughest part about that was (my dad) died that night. That was a huge thing that kind of took a toll on me,” said Wilson.

Wilson doesn’t let criticism of his 5 foot, 11 inch frame bother him, saying “my height doesn’t define my skill set,” and he talks of being a role model by helping inner city children.

“Levi’s is fueled by a pioneering spirit and the power we all have to make the world a better place. We believe Russell Wilson is a modern pioneer who perfectly embodies the values the Levi's brand admires; someone who takes chances, lives proactively and has a positive impact in the world,” said Levi’s spokesperson Veronica White.

The ads, which run 90 seconds and 2:30, will air on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC beginning now through the end of the month. They will also air during the Seahawks Monday Night Football game vs. the Green Bay Packers next week, which will also be broadcast on KONG 6/16.
