The Seattle Seahawks reportedly looked at a last-minute trade for Minnesota Vikings all-pro defensive end Jared Allen, but ESPN's Adam Schefter later tweeted Tuesday that Seattle decided not to pursue it.

The trade deadline is 1 p.m. PDT Tuesday.

Schefter cited multiple sources and also indicated that the Vikings were talking to a second team.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported the Vikings were looking to get a second- or third-round pick in return.

Allen is scheduled to be a free agent after the season.

The Seahawks and Vikings were involved in another blockbuster trade this past offseason when Minnesota shipped wide receiver Percy Harvin to Seattle. Harvin had offseason hip surgery and returned to practice for the first time last week. He has not played this season.

The Vikings are in the midst of a lost season at 1-6 and are playing for draft position.

The Seahawks (7-1) are coming off a tough 14-9 win against the Rams in which the defense gave up 200 yards rushing, but held together on a goal line stand as time expired.
