Talk about adding salt to the wound. Last night the New Orleans Saints lost 34-7 to the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field.
But then the Saints weren't able to head home because of a problem with the team plane, according to ESPN. Instead, they had to spend the night in Seattle.
A spokesperson for United said the plane was grounded due to a cracked window. The team was preparing to head home around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Added to the pain of staying in the city where they were beat handily is the loss of one day of preparation for their Week 14 game against the Carolina Panthers. The Saints already have a short turnaround for the game -- only six days -- against a team with the same record in their division.
Around 10 p.m. Monday, Saints player Rafael Bush tweeted, "This night couldn't get any worse."
New Orleans (9-3) will face division rival Carolina (9-3) at home on Sunday.
